Our StaffTipperary Glass is a leading independent glass processor and wholesaler based in Templemore for over fifty years.

We offer a wide range of toughened, toughened laminate and decorative offerings. All products are manufactured in line with the company’s strict quality and safety values.

Looking Out for Our Customers

Business can be tough and frustrating and at Tipperary Glass we always looks out for our customers. Our base ranges from the very large to the very small and each has various needs and demands.

From the local glazier dealing with Mrs Jones to the international construction company, office outfitters under time constraints to an architect looking for a bespoke design. We will try our best to help our customer in every way we can.

Two Arms

There are two main arms of the business; processing and wholesale. The wholesale business consists of the importation and distribution throughout Ireland of raw glass and mirror sheets. These are sourced worldwide and arrive to us on float liners on racks, or in freight containers in endcaps.

The processing division manufactures these sheets into individual glass pieces by cutting them down and carrying out further processing depending on the customer’s requirements such as polishing, drilling, toughening, laminating, or painting.

A long established reputation for high quality product and service

Tipperary Glass progression and growth timeline through the years

This company originally formed part of Lancegaye Ireland Limited which was set up around 1956 and carried on its business in a premise at Railway Road, Templemore.
There was a market for silvered sheet on the Irish market and in the year 1966 Lancegaye was taken over by Triplex and the late John J. Nash, and relocated to Bradley Row, Templemore.
Nicholas Cody joined the company in 1973 as General Manager with a workforce of eight operatives on the factory floor and two office staff. Nicholas purchased the company on the 1st of November 1986. The company expanded by diversifying the products available and increasing its wholesale of glass.
The premises was not large enough to house the machinery required as Tipperary Glass Ltd had now expanded to include brilliant cutting, toughening, other aspects of glass and mirror processing, as well as the wholesaling of glass, A site was purchased on Railway Road, Templemore and a new factory of 35,000 square feet was built and officially opened on the 20th June 2000. The company continued to see increased growth expand. An extension of 4,000 square feet was added to the existing factory and a second toughening plant was installed at the end of 2004 increasing output by 80%.
The company had over 100 employees when the recession hit. Over the next number of years employment fell to 35. During this difficult period we looked to the future and we were awarded CE Marking in July 2013. We look forward to the coming years with optimism and hope to build for a long successful future.
